Thermal Oxidation

Prantner’s thermal afterburning systems (TNV) provide you with an extremely efficient exhaust gas purification technology. Thanks to their robustness, thermal afterburning systems can be optimally deployed even for complex mixtures containing contaminants (e.g., organosilicon compounds). The high performance of the integrated heat exchanger systems significantly reduces operating costs. The systems are precisely designed for each specific pollutant situation. Compliance with legal requirements is easily achieved.

Prantner TNV systems are used in drying processes, paint shops, numerous chemical production processes, coating plants, the food industry, biogas treatment, and many other applications.

Procedural Principle

The process air is drawn in by a fan and first preheated in a heat exchanger using the purified exhaust air, then brought to the required reaction temperature using a special burner, and finally oxidized. Oxidation takes place in a specially designed combustion chamber at reaction temperatures ranging from 700 °C to 1,100 °C. Only high-temperature-resistant materials are used for the combustion chamber. The residence time in the combustion chamber is very short. After transferring part of the combustion heat to the supply air, the purified exhaust air is released into the atmosphere.
